Welcome back. I hope everyone is surviving the impediments brought on by the corona virus. We are sequestering ourselves best we can. We only go out when absolutely necessary. It can be really hard, especially now that the weather is warming and beckoning us to venture out of the house.
You know how it is as winter nears its end. You long for the warmth of the sun. Even with the beauty of winter, the sun is still a welcomed friend after the months of cold, gray, and white. And the sun brings its friends- the first blooming crocus and then the tulip; birds and insects arrive. These are all familiar sights at the coming of Spring.
We have bulbs popping up in the front flower beds. It is such a welcome sign! We still have quite a few of the leaves that fell last Autumn scattered on the lawn and blown into the beds as well. Time will have them cleaned out and piled in the trash bins as they should be but for now they are just a reminder that Autumn was once here giving us a respite from the heat of Summer. Funny, how Spring and Autumn seem to be respites from the intensities of Summer and Winter. But I like that- how nature provides periodic respites from life’s intensities. And I now welcome Spring just as I welcomed Autumn just a few months ago.
Today is St. Patrick’s Day- Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I’m wearing bits of green here and there- enough to avoid that playful pinch so generously given as often as little fingers are able. I think we should celebrate by giving hugs when we see the green! We need more hugs in the world, I think.
That’s all for today. Know that you are loved.
Until next time-
Lorraine
