The Gift of Today

Uncategorized

20 Mar

As I sit and write I am reminded that we only have today. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is yet to be. Another way I have heard it put is that yesterday is a cancelled check and tomorrow is only a promissory note. The meaning is still the same. We only have today.

When I think about that, it really puts things into perspective. I often find myself worrying about things that are too far off to impact me at the moment or else I’m regretting things from the past that really should be, well, left in the past. There’s nothing that can change what was that has led to now. Suffice it to be enough to take care of the now. So, that’s why I say, “today is a gift.” It is the Present. I don’t have to worry about what I will do tomorrow, because when tomorrow comes it will be yet a new day and new days bring hope.

Enjoy your gift of today and look forward to the hope of tomorrow.

Until next time,

Lorraine
